The Comical (yet somehow realistic) View of a Woman’s Experience in Bar
If anything, this video is a great example of what men shouldn’t do to approach women!
Although we’re very obviously dealing with crude stereotypes in this video, these are all based on a somewhat distorted reality.
First, don’t be the lame guys hanging out at the bar just saluting women when they come in. They are obviously chumps and easily ignored. It shows that you don’t really have much going on since your attention is on new people arriving. I know that many guys do this, they immediately notice anyone walking into the room… don’t do this! You should already be busy and engaged in a conversation so you can’t possibly notice new people arriving!
Next, we have the three “friends”, one of which is obviously in love with our woman. Don’t be that guy. Seriously, it might work in movies (bad ones at that) but if you’re going to be a friend… then just be a friend. Hopefully you’ll see how randomly professing your love sounds to a woman, and how awkward it can be out of context.
Don’t immediately offer to buy her a drink… for obvious reasons. Are you trying to buy her attention? This is a classic mistake that men make… fortunately it’s getting better these days.
Don’t offer her an island either… hah, do I really need to explain this?
When you immediately offer a woman something, it just shows that you have nothing else to offer, it lowers your value and raises hers. It’s just bad, don’t do it!
Finally, the only guy who seemed relatively normal was the guy with the girlfriend. At first sight, he already had social value, seemed relatively busy… but as soon as he opened his mouth he blew it. He was way too excited, remembered creepy details about her (seriously, even if you do remember that she sat 3 rows in front of you, don’t mention it) and lastly, if you have a girlfriend, then stick with her! Don’t ignore her to talk to another girl, that’s poor judgment, rude and makes you look pretty bad in front of her and your girlfriend.
Now how would you approach her? What would you say?
